Tonight I’m blogging from Amsterdam. It’s been a while and thought I’d share a few images from Adela + Pete’s recent session in Antigua. Love the Arabic tattoos on Pete’s forearm that signifies their love for each other.
Lizzie works for Virgin Holidays and has done a fair bit of traveling to the Caribbean. Unlike most of my clients, this wasn’t Lizzie’s first time to Antigua.
For a small ceremony of 6 their ideal destination wedding location was on the beach at Galley Bay . The following day I met Adrian and Lizzie to trash the dress. So much happiness for an intimate island affair.
Last Week I bumped into Julien and Amy honeymooning on Palm Island, Grenadines. I was there shooting a destination wedding for a lovely couple who eloped from Boston. Such a small world. I was lucky to join Julien and Amy for a few cocktails and catch up since their wedding in Antigua.
The Caribbean is a known wedding destination for Americans, Europeans, Canadians and sometimes Australian’s. Most photographers get to know their clients prior to the big day, living on a small island, I don’t. Luckily, technology today provides easier communication but there’s nothing like a face to face chat in person. Even though i met Julien and Amy prior to the wedding for a walk through and witnessed their wedding. Have to say, i enjoyed the moment sitting at the bar on Palm Island and listening to Julien and Amy’s post wedding stories. For the first time, i felt i got to know my clients.
My thought for the day.
I’ll leave you with an insight to Julien and Amy’s trash the dress session in Antigua
As a destination wedding photographer in the Caribbean I travel to amazing places. My recent wedding took me to Palm Island, a private island. The day after the wedding I joined the lovely couple Maureen and Scott on a day trip to Tobago Cays in the Grenadines. The marine park inside horseshoe reef is blooming with friendly sea turtles, shellfish, conch and other species of marine life. This is my second destination wedding in the Grenadines this season. Mustique was the first. So who wants to get married on Petit Saint Vincent? i’d love to shoot a wedding there and i’m officially well traveled in this area.
